Keynote: Small Beers and Big Ideas
Posted by comms in News, Panels
How did a couple of beers in the pub lead to the creation of start up social enterprise with a mission to create a 21st century commons? Using his recent work on community use of environmental assets as a case study, Mark will discuss how small projects can take on big issues and drive fundamental change in large institutions.
Mark Walton has over ten years experience of working in senior positions in range of charities and social enterprises developing the role of the sector in addressing issue of sustainable development and climate change. In 2010 he established The Waterways Project to support social enterprise and community asset development on canals and inland waterways. He has recently co founded Shared Assets, a new start up social enterprise which aims to support community use of a broad range of environmental assets. Mark is a 2012 Clore Social Leadership Fellow.
